VC ITU OPENS INDEPENDENCE MOVEMENT EXIBITION
Dr Umar Saif, Vice Chancellor Information Technology University (ITU) Punjab opened an exhibition to commemorate the 70 Years of Pakistan’s independence at the Arfa Software Technology Park curated by the Centre for Governance and Policy ITU here today.
The exhibition will remain open for one month till September 14, 2017, which covers the period from the Lahore Resolution in 1940 to Pakistan’s creation and the immediate aftermath. On this occasion Dr. Umar Saif in his address said that there was a need to aware our youth regarding the ideology of Pakistan and the untiring struggle of our elders who scarified their lives, families and belongings to achieve the milestone of an independent homeland for us. It was now foremost duty of our youth to adopt modern technology to make Pakistan a developed country, he added.
The exhibit also shows the development of Pakistan’s map, from the accession of the princely states, the loss of Junagadh State, and then the vivisection of Pakistan in 1971. ‘The pictorial exhibition recalls to cherish our independence, preserve national unity and diversity. A large number of students from various educational institutions are scheduled to witness the exhibition.
