Question: If I have already applied for Fall 2020 do I have to create a new account for THE YEAR 2021?
Answer: Yes, you will have to create a new account for each admissions cycle. The admissions portal is started afresh every year.


Question: Are there any specific quotas for admission?
Answer: Information Technology University (ITU) is a young university which was set up in 2012.  Presently, we do not have a dedicated, independent campus with hostels, etc., and we are housed in Arfa Software Technology Park. Therefore, the provision for quotas does not exist.


Question: How competitive is admissions to ITU (BS programs)?
Answer: Admission to ITU (BS Program) is entirely merit based and very competitive.  The minimum required score to be eligible is 60% in Matriculation and Intermediate (or equivalent 12-yr education).


Question: Does it affect a student’s chance to get into ITU if he/she has appeared in the final exam privately?
Answer: No, applicants are evaluated on their academic grades regardless of the fact whether someone has appeared in the final examination as a regular or private student.

In the case of O’A’ Level/equivalent educational streams, an IBCC grade equivalence certificate is mandatory.


Question: When does ITU offer admission for BS Programs?
Answer: ITU offers admission for all programs for the Fall Semester only. The cycle commences around April. Exact dates are published on the website and social media.

Answer: ITU offers admission to graduate and undergraduate programs in the Fall semester.


Question: I have received my transcripts for Bachelor’s/Master’s but I do not have the degree yet. Can I still apply to ITU?
Answer: Yes, your degree will be required for final admission confirmation but you are welcome to apply as long as the official documentary evidence is complete.


Question: Is it possible to apply after the deadline?
Answer: No, applications submitted after the deadline are not accepted.

Answer: No. Attending the first semester is compulsory and deferral is not possible for BS and MS students.


Question: How is the undergraduate merit calculated?
Answer: 50% is the Academic Record score and 50% is the ITU Admissions Test (or SAT) score. Please refer to the Selection Criteria on our website for more details.


Question: How is the graduate merit calculated?

Answer: No, the minimum score required to be considered for admission is 60% in Matric, as well as Intermediate.

Answer: All undergraduate programs have 80 seats each.

However, ITU does not compromise on quality and will admit only those who fulfil the merit, which may not always result in class capacity being met.

Question: What are the fees for the BS programs?
Answer: The tuition fee for each undergraduate program is Rs. 5,500 per Credit Hour. The course load for the BS programs varies between 15-18 Credit Hours per semester.

There is also a semester wise University Fee, which is Rs. 24,000/- in the first semester and Rs. 20,000/- for the remaining semesters.


Question: What are the fees for the MS programs?
Answer: >The tuition fee for the graduate program is Rs. 6,500 per Credit Hour. The average course load for the MS programs is 9 Credit Hours per semester.

Answer: Yes, ITU is recognized by the Higher Education Commission (HEC) and all its engineering programs are accredited by the Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC).
