PAKISTANI SCIENTIST HONORED FOR WORLD EVENT

To recognize extraordinary leadership and innovation in meeting the Global Goals, Pakistan’s Computer Scientist and inventor Dr. Umar Saif founding Vice Chancellor of Information Technology University (ITU) the Punjab, Chairman Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) and Advisor to the CM Punjab has been honored and chosen to join at the inaugural Goalkeepers 2017 in New York City. Dr. Saif will showcase the technological interventions introduced in the public sector and the economic achievements made through smart devices.

The two-part event will kick off from today i.e. September 19th with the 2nd annual Global Goals Awards, being joined by Melinda Gates and Deputy Secretary-General of the UN, Amina J. Mohammed. Categories for the 2017 Awards include: The Innovation Award, The Healthy Not Hungry Award, The Leave No One Behind Award, the Young Goalkeeper Award and the Leadership AwardBill Gates will welcome a series of experts and global health heroes to the stage, to illustrate through data led evidence progress made and need to focus in the future.

Melinda Gates will host a session on Women and Girls. Nobel Prize winner and leading campaigner for girls’ education Malala Yousafzai and Liberian Peace Activist Leymah Gbowee will be highlighting the critical role of women’s movements to drive change.
