ITU Hosts Panel Discussion on Book “Governing the Ungovernable” by Dr. Ishrat Husain On May 2
The Information Technology University (ITU) is hosting a panel discussion on the book, “Governing the Ungovernable” by Dr. Ishrat Hussain on May 2, 2018, Wednesday, at 3 pm in the 3rd floor Auditorium, Arfa Software Technology Park, Lahore. The book charts the governance struggle of Pakistan starting from its existence in 1947, especially its structural problems, political crises and institutional imbalance. The book suggests a selective and incremental approach of restructuring some key public institutions that pertain to accountability, transparency, security, economic growth, and equity.
Dr Ishrat Husain, a former Governor of the State Bank of Pakistan, Dean and Director of the IBA (Institute of Business Administration) and receiver of the Hilal-e-Imtiaz award (2003) and the highest civilian award, the Nishan-e-Pakistan (2016) will be joined on the panel by Dr. Umar Saif, Vice Chancellor, ITU, Ms Farida Shaheed, Executive Director, Shirkat Gah, Mr. Tariq Khosa, Former IG Police, Director General FIA, Mr. Ashraf Hayat, Executive Director, Institute for Policy Reforms and former Finance Secretary and Mr. Fahd Husain, Executive Director News, Express TV.
