BC’s SUMMER ORIENTATION DIGITAL SELF LEARNING PROGRAM AT ITU TO IMPROVE PROFICIENCY-Dr. Umar Saif
The digital self-learning platform of British Council for the Information Technology University (ITU) the Punjab students will ensure proficiency improvement and pave the way for the long term partnership to benefit the students of Pakistan in general. Dr. Umar Saif founding Vice Chancellor of ITU expressed after the signing of an agreement in this regard here today.
He said that this partnership was historic for the ITU as the ITU’s strength was diversity, which also invited challenge of making sure for providing level playing field for being proficient in written to spoken English. ITU was a common man’s University where all students would get equal opportunity to communicate with the rest of the world in English language, which they understand, he added.
Speaking on the occasion Sajjad Imran Area Director of British Council said that signing of this agreement was a start for moving towards the other initiatives of the Punjab Government. Pakistan was one of our strategic countries in terms of relationship, quality, depth and programs being managed in Pakistan were the largest in world including exams, teachers training programs conducted with the Punjab government, he added.
He further stated that this partnership would set the pathway to the new future of digitalization of knowledge, tools and techniques penetrating into the delivery of education, assessment system and attainment of knowledge and providing digital library.
Ms. Arzu Daniel Director English said that it would further develop the English language skills by using the digital platform, which was a new step for way forward.
Earlier, Dr. Umar Saif and Sajjad Imran signed the document on behalf of their respective organizations. The Registrar Zaheer Sarwar and officials of ITU and British Council were also present on this occasion. Later, the VC ITU was briefed regarding the functioning of the BC.
