Dr. Ammar Aftab holds a PhD in Health Economics from Texas A&M University. Dr. Aftab is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Economics at the Information Technology University. He has researched extensively on issues related to implementation, financing, and impacts of health policies. In the US, he worked on the impact of marijuana legalization and gun laws. He also works as an international expert for health financing with multilateral development banks. In the past two years Dr. Aftab has worked in more than 16 countries globally.
Dr. Aftab’s current research interests focus on the use of digital health and achievement of universal health coverage in developing economies. He is currently engaged in projects in Latin America and Southeast Asia.
