With immense pleasure and pride, Information Technology University is pleased to announced that its Vice Chancellor, Dr. Umar Saif, who is also the Chairman of PITB, has been exalted with a greatest of an honor, Sitar-e-Imtiaz, on Pakistan Day, 2015 in Governor House, Lahore. The nation is profusely grateful for his noble pursuits in the field of Information Technology which includes a plethora of notable projects i.e. crime reporting system, 13C Center for help Punjab Police, Flood Monitoring Unity, Electronic Challan System etc. All his works are concerted towards ameliorating the status quo of the masses in Pakistan and to foster an IT ecosystem.

The award is the latest in a long list of achievements for Umar Saif, whose work has been appreciated and touted by the President of the World Bank last year as one of three global examples of good governance. Apart from that, CM Shahbaz Sharif also applauded the role of Dr. Umar Saif several times for introducing e-governance and m-governance in the province of Punjab.

Dr. Saif, with his remarkable acumen, established Pakistan’s largest startup incubator, Plan 9, to support and fund a deluge of new, effective entrepreneurial ideas that can augment Pakistan’s economy to manifold. Under his mentorship, ITU aims to carve out bright individuals like Dr. Saif to take IT arena to new heights.
