Program & Course Outline

The department of Electrical Engineering is currently offering MS in three streams comprising of 30 credit hours: Embedded system, Electronics Engineering and Communication Systems. Each specialization has four core courses (3 credit hours per course), four elective courses (3 credit hours per course) and a compulsory thesis with research (6 credit hours). Two of the four core courses are related to the particular specialization while the other two are related to mathematics. The program offers great flexibility to the individuals at job as the classes are held in the evening.

Eligibility criteria for admission in MS in Electrical Engineering program

Following is the eligibility criteria for admission in MS in Electrical Engineering program adopted by ITU.

  1. Four years of education (minimum 124 credit hours) after HSSC/A Level/Grade-12 or Sixteen years of schooling will be required for admission.
  2. A candidate can be enrolled in MSEE program with Bachelors in Electrical Engineering or related fields (Approved by the Faculty Board of Studies (FBS) of Electrical Engineering Department) with a minimum CGPA of 2.0 out of 4.0 or 60% marks.
  3. Appearance in GAT-based ITU’s admission test with a minimum 50% cumulative score will be required at the time of admission to MSEE.
  4. Internal criteria for admission: 40% Academic History + 40% Admission Test Score + 20% Interview. The candidate is required to secure at least 50% marks in each of these assessment categories.
